Civil rights can simply be defined as what you are entitled to as a citizen of a country in terms of liberties or freedom. This is a very familiar aspect of law to almost everybody. In a broader sense, the primary aim of civil rights is equal treatment of all irrespective of their tribe and tongue, or irrespective of their region and religion, or irrespective of their color and condition.
This implies that discrimination whatsoever is a punishable offense in civil rights law. This is because when you discriminate among people by the virtues of where they belong or by the virtues of whatever that has nothing to do with what they looking for, you have obviously denied them of their civil rights.
The most disappointing aspect of civil rights law is that one of the main breakers of the law is the law enforcement agents, police as the perfect example. This comes to play when the police you force on suspects so that they will confess. It is quite understood no true confession could come from someone under severe persecution. Even if he confesses that he did this and that, you will later realize that he didn’t commit the crime he just confessed so that to save himself from the severe punishment.
This is why as a victim of civil right rights abuse, you should first consult your lawyer to know your right and then file a lawsuit to claim it. Silence in the case of oppression will never be a good idea. Of course, there are different other ways by which you could get your information and if you can’t find evidence why forcing it.
Civil rights are not limited to inmates in prisons too. We have seen today how dilapidated our prisons structures are and how unsafe it is for the inmates to live peacefully. Treatment of inmates like subjecting them to severe hunger and starvation and putting them in is also another abuse of civil rights in any country of the world. Negligence of civil rights by an individual is not forgivable not to talk of when they are committed by the government.
Immunity is an aspect of civil rights given to top government officials which exempt them from being tried in a law court for any crime in as much as they are still in office. Immunity although is frowned at by some people who feel that it is preventing them from being answerable to the public and from being accountable in their spending. Immunity thereby makes it very easy and effortless to embezzle and misappropriate public funds.
On a more friendly and comprehensive manner, civil rights mean equality to everybody on anything and on everything. Some of the civil rights are freedom of speech and expression. This single right affords you the opportunity to say anything without the fear of being anyone, in as much as you say what is written. This right is also enjoyed by writers too in as much as the writer writes what is right.
