Maintaining customer satisfaction is a crucial aspect of any business, but it’s even more important for remodeling contractors, For Everlast Construction, the keys to achieving and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction are simple: provide consistent quality throughout each phase of its work and focus on leaving a lasting impression on every job. “Our goal is simple: keep our clients happy from start to finish,” says owner Ariel Baleli. “We accomplish this by providing quality at every level, from our workmanship to our customer service.”

Everlast Construction has been remodeling kitchens, bathrooms and whole houses; building room, garage, and second-story additions; fabricating and installing custom cabinetry; and handling major renovations for residential clients throughout the Bay Area. The family-owned and operated company utilizes Green building methods and products that are designed to improve its clients’ energy efficiency, reduce their maintenance costs, and increase the value of their homes.

Unlike less experienced remodeling contractors that take a hands-off approach to dealing with their clientele, Everlast Construction puts customer care at the forefront. “We’re known just as much for our excellent customer service as we are for our job site capabilities,” says Mr. Baleli. “By communicating effectively with our clients and making ourselves available whenever they need us, we’re able to give them peace of mind throughout the duration of their projects.”

Another distinguishing attribute of Everlast Construction is its dedication to quality control in every aspect of its operations. “I have very high standards in terms of the quality of workmanship I expect, and my employees know how important it is to adhere to those standards,” says Mr. Baleli. “As an additional measure, I periodically visit each job site to double-check the quality of the work. If I see something I don’t like, I’ll have my guys redo it.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Will I be able to reach the owner of the company?

A: Absolutely. We have project managers who oversee every job, but our owner, Ariel Baleli, also tries to maintain a personal connection with every client.

Q: Can you accurately estimate my project’s timeline?

A: Yes. We take pride in our ability to provide detailed, accurate contracts, and those always include start and end dates. We always finish our projects on time—even if something unexpected comes up, we do everything in our power to get our work done on schedule.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy?

A: By California law, you have a three-day period after signing the contract during which you can cancel. Even if you want to cancel after this time period has elapsed, we’ll still reimburse you. We don’t like the idea of performing work for a client who isn’t comfortable with the situation.

Q: Do you work with high-quality materials?

A: Yes, we make it a point to use high-quality products and materials from reputable manufacturers that provide good warranties.

Q: Do you use subcontractors?

A: Generally, we try to keep everything in-house rather than use subcontractors. That way, we have more control over the quality of our workmanship and service.

When budgeting for a remodeling project, remember to make allowances for building code-required upgrades.

Building code standards have become more stringent in recent years, especially when it comes to safety concerns and energy conservation. With most home remodeling projects, code-compliant upgrades are required in addition to the primary work being done, which is why it’s important to identify key areas in your home that aren’t up to code. By determining where upgrades are needed in advance of your project, you’ll be able to budget accordingly.

One building code requirement that’s been around for some time is the installation of ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) at specified electrical outlets. GFCIs are crucial protective devices that minimize the chance of an electrical shock in kitchens, bathrooms and other rooms where the presence of water poses a risk. Current code standards require two GFCIs to be installed in a kitchen and at least one in every bathroom. However, since the list of areas requiring GFCI protection continues to increase with subsequent code revisions, it’s a good idea to proactively upgrade outlets in areas like garages, basements and crawl spaces as well.

A more recent code requirement concerns the addition of vacancy sensors to bathroom lights and ventilation fans. A vacancy sensor causes the power to shut off when there’s no activity in the room, which saves energy from lights or fans that are left on accidentally. Since few homes already have vacancy sensors installed in their bathrooms, most homeowners who are planning to remodel will need to include this upgrade in their plans. Fortunately, vacancy sensors and GFCIs aren’t overly expensive upgrades.

Cabinets: custom vs. semi-custom

When people think of cabinets, they usually think of two classes: pre-fabricated modular (also known as “stock”) and custom-made. However, many people don’t realize there’s also a middle class of cabinets known as semi-custom. “Semi-custom cabinets are basically stock cabinets with extra detailing options,” explains Ariel Baleli, owner of Everlast Construction in Pleasant Hill. “Unlike stock cabinets, you have the option to alter certain attributes like drawer size and cabinet depth. The only downside of semi-custom is the lack of sizing options, as they’re limited to stock cabinet sizes.”

So what’s a better option: custom or semi-custom? “It depends on your needs,” says Mr. Baleli. “If standard cabinet sizes work with your kitchen design, semi-custom is a great choice. However, if your kitchen requires custom sizing, custom cabinets are your best option. The good news is the cost difference between semi-custom and custom is typically only 10 to 15 percent, which is a small price to pay for long-term functionality.”

The company has become prominent for both small repairs and massive house refurbishment. EverLast Construction is considered by many homeowners as experts in interior and exterior renovation along with additions, bathroom and kitchen remodeling.

As a matter of fact, EverLast Construction also earned more than 30 categories of the equally esteemed Angie’s List Awards in 2014 for excellent work quality and customer service standards. An award for best service is definitely a clear indication that this company has received numerous positive reviews and endorsements from its customers. EverLast Construction can take care of residential and commercial tasks regardless of size and scope of work. Its services include installation of roofing and gutters, sidings, concrete and masonry, outdoor decks, additions, and renovations. Houzz is acknowledged as one of the top platforms in terms of interior/exterior design and restoration of residential units. Winners of different Houzz awards receive badges on their company profiles to help homeowners recognize the best home professional in various urban hubs. The family-managed construction firm has the capacity to carry out each and every process of the project from preliminary design work, actual fabrication to finishing touches. This success can be attributed to EverLast Construction’s customer-oriented strategy.

Contractors have a personal touch in interacting with their clients and give the house owners what they need and want. At the same time, EverLast Construction makes use of environmental-friendly materials as well as green building techniques to enhance the energy-efficiency of households, minimizing maintenance expenditures and increasing the value of their abodes. Their objective here is to ensure wholesome living spaces for their customers. Designs can be customized or semi-custom particularly when it comes to cabinets.  EverLast Construction also focuses on quality control in all aspects of the company’s operations. That is mainly the reason why customers can always look forward to expert craftsmanship and reliable services. The project manage or designer makes it a point to visit onsite projects to make sure that high quality is delivered in all stages of the project. All jobs are completed promptly without compromising workmanship.

At the end of the day, the company’s concern is to provide functionality, aesthetics, and cost-efficiency for all of its clients. EverLast Construction adheres to building code policies which have been very rigid during the past few years. These standards are stringent especially in terms of energy conservation and safety issues. Moreover, compliant improvement is mandated aside from the major work being undertaken. Incidentally, Houzz Awards are given out in the categories of design and customer service. Accolades for the second category are determined by a number of key factors. These include the quantity and quality of customer testimonials that the candidate has gained during the previous year. - See more at: http://everlast-construction.com/blog/view/12#sthash.CBbxg6AR.dpuf
